About WEX
The Writers’ Express (WEX) is a Boston-area non-profit with a 13-year record of driving measurable gains in the literacy skills of underserved students in grades 3-12. In 2007, WEX reached over 8,000 struggling students nationally by training the instructional staff of schools (and other non-profits) as well as working directly with students. In 2008, WEX plans to reach 40,000 students in Greater Boston, Springfield, NYC, San Francisco, and Milwaukee.
