Getting Started with WEX™ Curriculum

At the heart of our unique approach is the assumption that all students are motivated by their own ability to express themselves powerfully. When they can see themselves becoming better writers, they want to keep writing. By continuously showing students the impact their words have on a real audience, and by steadily developing their power to increase that impact, teachers using the WEX Method™ ignite the urge that inspires students to write and develop the ability that keeps them writing.

The key to generating and sustaining this natural momentum in the learning process is to provide students with the opportunity to succeed—from day one.

The Getting Started module does just that. Following a three-week schedule that includes daily lesson plans, homework for students, and helpful classroom hints for implementing the WEX Method™, teachers immediately engage students in a learning process that empowers as it educates.
