Basketball - Jessica

The ball came hurtling like a meteor straight towards my sweaty hand. Instinctively I put both hands up and caught the ball. I decided not to question my good fortune. Running like a cheetah down the half-court line, I could hear the others shuffling behind me. SCREECH!! I stopped, listening to my sneakers brake on the court. Bad choice, I then decided, as a gray figure obstructed my view of the basket. Sydney, towering over me, put her hands out in defense position. And in my state of panic, I decided to forget everything I had learned from basketball practice. Faking left, right, left, right, Sydney copied my every move like a mirror. The ball jumped out of my hand and flew to the nearest person on my team, Isabel, her eager hands waiting to catch the ball. But then, it just missed her hand and rolled off court. It was the other team’s ball now.
