Writers in the Woods
A week of adventure, writing, and fun with The Writers’ Express and Kroka Expeditions. Daily writing about their adventures will help campers develop their expressive and technical skills.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
- A multi-day canoe expedition, including camping on an island.
- Rock climbing on glacial cliffs.
- Opportunities to play games, swim, and develop sustainable outdoor living skills.
- Traditional craft-making from natural forest materials.
- Map and compass adventures in the woods and on water.
- A group service project.
- White water rafting on the Deerfield River with a rapid swim.
- Daily journal writing and one-on-one conferences to develop writing skills.
In the evenings, campers will gather around the campfire to cook supper, share their journal writing, and sing songs. When the fire is out, they will drift off to sleep in their tents or under the stars, lulled by the sounds of a gurgling stream or the call of lake loons.
In the fall, the campers' writing will be published in The Writers’ Express Collection.
Be ready for an adventure worth writing about!
